Cobb Education Consortium Leadership Retreat Trains Leaders of Excellence

This fall I've had two terrific opportunities to speak on personality styles.  The first one was to the women of faith at the Kennesaw United Methodist Hebron retreat. The second presentation was this past week at the Cobb Education Consortium Leadership Retreat which was held in the beautiful mountains around Toccoa, Georgia. It was a wonderful experience since I not only presented information about the DISC personality profile and how it impacts us all as leaders in the field of education, but I was also able to attend other presentations and activities at the conference as well.

We began determining our personality style by answering the question:
 Are You Outgoing or Reserved?

Next, we answered the question:
Are You Task Oriented or People Oriented?

Finally, we divided everyone into the four personality styles and learned about the strengths and motivational  fuels of each one.

To conclude the presentation, we put our knowledge of personality styles to the test and participated in a favorite team building activity of mine:  The Marshmallow Challenge!

It was hard work....

It was challenging work...

It was fun and creative work...

Want to see how I use this activity in the classroom?  You can read about it here:

The Cobb Education Consortium is an innovative program committed to developing educators as leaders.  It is a two year program that combines training with networking and support and holds the distinction of being the only program like it in the whole United States!  It was a privilege and an honor to join them for a couple of days.  Thank you for the opportunity!
