Parenting With Heart

Do you sometimes wish your child came with an instruction manual? Not only do children come in all shapes and sizes, they also come with different personality styles. Understanding and communicating in your child’s personality style is essential to empowering your child to develop high self esteem and reach their potential. It's also a key ingredient in creating and maintaining a good relationship with your child. By focusing on how your child is wired, you can empower them to recognize and maximize their strengths. You can communicate in ways that your child will understand.

Beginning in August, I will again be offering parenting classes at Kennesaw United Methodist Church. In the class you will:

• Learn to identify your own personality style
• Learn to identify your child’s natural wired style

• Learn what secret fuel each personality type needs for motivation
• Learn practical techniques for encouraging and empowering your child to be their best!

Classes are scheduled on August 28th and September 11th at 5:00pm. I hope you will join me for an exciting evening!

Wyatt The Wonder Dog has a good friend, Hatch who needs your help! Hatch is a black lab who was abandoned in a neighborhood in Kennesaw one year ago. Can you imagine leaving your dog in the middle of a cold snowy day and not knowing whether someone would take care of him or not? Lucky for Hatch, Kathy Baker, owner of Must Love Dogs Inc, a doggie daycare, boarding and grooming facility found Hatch and took him in. Hatch has been a happy resident of Must Love Dogs ever since. Unfortunately, Hatch has arthritis and possibly even bone cancer, but he still has a happy loving attitude.
Proceeds from a book signing scheduled at Must Love Dogs Inc Saturday, March 5th from 3:00-5:00 will go to Hatch's upkeep and care. Pam Gardner will be there with some new sketches from our next Wyatt book, due out this summer! You can be the first to see the new character in the book named Hatch in honor of Wyatt's friend. I will read the story of Wyatt the Wonder Dog to children and we'll have a special Wyatt color sheet to give away. It should be a lot of fun! Wyatt and I hope to see you there!

Join us Saturday, March 5th, 3:00-5:00 at:

Visioning Workshop at Kennesaw United Methodist Church
Is A Huge Success

Thirteen was a lucky number for the Visioning Workshop held at KUMC on January 22!  Thirteen participants gathered to ask themselves the following questions:

• Why am I here?
• What is my purpose?
• What are my God given gifts and talents?
• What is my mission?  What is my vision for my future?

It was a time of laughter, introspection and insight as the group began the journey along the path that God has planned for each of us.  Continue watching this site for the next Visioning Class.  You won't want to miss it!
